| Assists nursing staff in performing various patient care activities relating to lifting, moving and transporting. Sets up traction and related orthopedic equipment. Assists male patients with activities of daily living. Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient’s age specific needs and provide age specific treatment and care. (Refer to department/unit specific Scope of Service) |
Qualifications: |
| An Orderly must have the ability to read, write, communicate well, and have a basic knowledge of the human physical systems that is normally acquired through the completion of a high school education or equivalent. CPR Certification, Crisis Management, Body Mechanics and Lifting Devices, Crutch and Walker Training, EKG Certification, Emergency Room responsibilities for assigned patient care and non-patient care tasks, and Security Training Competencies. |
