Description: |
Organizes and administers specialized care to cardiology patients. Assists with the design of patient education programs and conducts patient education and discharge planning. Directs daily operation of, and monitors patient responses in, outpatient exercise program in accordance with established procedures. Acts on behalf of department director in cases when he/she is absent. Assists with cardiology procedures, including stress testing, pharmacologic stress testing, TEE, Holter monitoring ECG, table testing; conscious sedation and nuclear stress testing. Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient’s age specific needs and provide age specific treatment and care. Qualifications: |
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, and currently licensed to practice in the New York State. ACLS certification, current. Minimum of three years experience in coronary care of equivalent. BLS and ACLS Instructor preferred.
Understanding of cardiac hemodynamic and drug effects, and exercise physiology. Ability to use cardiology equipment. IV skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. |
