| Assumes responsibility for the performance of routine and standardized biological and/or biochemical test procedures as well as more complex or developmental procedures on blood, urine, tissues, body fluids and other specimen sources that aid physicians in the diagnosis and clinical management of patients. Assumes responsibility for actively contributing to the section’s productivity and cost effectiveness. Assumes responsibility for recognizing results or problems that require referral to Section Supervisor, Pathologist, or Clinical Laboratory Supervisor. |
Qualifications: |
| Baccalaureate degree in medical technology or sciences, or equivalent knowledge of specialized principles or techniques that would normally be obtained through a formal four year college/university academic program. Registry with a recognized board of registry for medical technology, such as American Society of Clinical Pathologists required. Maintains current licensure with the New York State Department of Health and the New York State Education Department as Clinical Laboratory Technologist. |
