Description: | Phase 3 Recruiting is looking to secure senior software engineers - Core Java Developers - for our New York client, an established and thriving software development company serving the financial industry. We are recruiting for contract-to-hire and direct-hire opportunities based in New York City.
Ideal candidates will be superb, ambitious Core Java Developers with 4-8 years of industry experience.
We are targeting individuals who understand “the big picture” in terms of software development; i.e. those who understand how and why specific Java code works, not just that it does work. Ideal candidates will be able to work well in an n-tier environment and have strong skills in front end technologies (modern standards based AJAX Frameworks, JavaScript, debugging). They will also understand how they will contribute to a team environment, and the end collaborative result.
Selected candidates will be responsible for a spectrum of assignments from working on new products, system and product enhancements, and systems architecture to bug fixes.
Required Skills:
4-7 years of enterprise software development experience
Excellent understanding of object-oriented design patterns
Excellent core Java skills
Strong Experience with various Web technologies, such as JavaScript, MVC Frameworks including Struts1, Struts2 (either). Java EE including Servlets, JSP, and Ajax Frameworks (GWT, jQuery) etc.
Preferred but NOT required:
Enterprise RDBMS (Oracle and/or Sybase)
Experience in J2EE platforms, such as JBoss
Experience in Java Persistence API implementations, such as Hibernate
Experience in multi-threaded programming
Additional requirements:
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Organizational and problem resolution skills
Meticulous, detail oriented work skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to collaborate with team members, and develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues
Ability to adapt to changing projects and departmental priorities
Preferred Attributes :
Financial services experience and solid understanding of securities
Quantitative formal education (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, etc.)
